As I write this report (April 10th), the weather is beautiful…it is supposed to go into the high 80s. Let’s hope that that is an omen that Spring has arrived and that the bad weather is behind us.
We had our annual Spring trip to the Casino yesterday…to the Sands in Bethlehem. Everyone had a good time. The ticket holders started out with a pancake breakfast at the Post. Thank you Bob Salvini, Ed O’Dowd and, of course, the kitchen crew for the cooking. The bus was pretty full and the snacks, beer, wine, soda, water, mimosas, bloody marys and screw drivers were flowing. Thank you Dale for putting together another great event and thanks to all who helped…Ron, Ellen, Elyce, Stephen and Roberta to name a few.
Our St. Patricks Dinner Dance was held on March 11th and was very well attended. A special thanks to the kitchen crew for the delicious food, Bob Salvini and Ron Behnke for the beverages, Ellen Caroselli, our newest bartender, “candy Karen and Kraus Candy” and all who donated door prizes, to the decorating and setup committee and, of course, to Dale Behnke and her “crew” for making it all possible. A great time was had by all.
Our next Casino Day for the Veterans is coming up on April 30th at 1:00 p.m. Bingo dates are July 24th and August 7th at 7:00 p.m. As always volunteers are welcome and needed. If you would like to help out, please contact Roberta at 201-913-0437 or via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
On May 29th, the Memorial Day Events start at 8:00 am. See details under “Events”. If you plan to march, line up is at 11AM at the Mack Bldg on Passaic St. This is an event you will not want to miss. We will have Sailors and Marines from Fleet Week join us at the Post and in the parade.
Sadly in March and April we lost 2 of our members, Diny Albach and Margaret Henderson. May they be at peace.
Our next meeting is May 11th at 7:30 pm sharp and then we are off for the summer. Have a great couple of months.
For God and Country,
