If a veteran is using the VA Health Care System, he/she should upgrade their account to a Premium Account. There is no charge for this and there are many advantages. The secure messaging system allows you to contact your VA Doctor by email for those things that are not emergencies. For example I was able to contact my VA Doctor by the VA secure email system and get 2 prescriptions transferred to the VA system. Now all of my prescriptions are delivered by the VA system at $8.00 a prescription. I was also able to get a no refill prescription renewed. I had used up my 3 available refills. The VA states that you will get an answer to your request with in three days but I received responses to mine within 24 hours.

The Premium Account system will save the enrolled veteran phone calls with their long wait times and unnecessary trips to the VA for information.
